Around eight SIMI activists escaped from Bhopal jail; High alert declared

In what could be viewed as a clear case of inefficient and insensitive jail administration prevailing in our country, at least eight SIMI militants have reportedly escaped from the Bhopal jail on today. As per the report, a high alert has been declared across the borders by the authorities. It is learned that the central government and the central home ministry sought a detailed report from the state administration regarding the shocking incident. The militants reportedly killed a security guard during the jail break operation. This is the second such jail break operation in the state by the militants in three years after the infamous jail break by seven SIMI militants in 2013. Those escaped militants, who had escaped during the 2013 jail break, organised several criminal activities across the country. They allegedly perpetrated bomb blast, bank robbery and many such crimes. It is said that the police authorities arrested only four of the seven militants who escaped the jail during the 2013 jail break. Two militants are still absconding from the police and jail authorities. It took nearly three years for the authorities to arrest at least four militants. Anyway, it seems that this time the authorities are more vigilant. All state bordering the Madhya Pradesh got alert messages. The police administration of these states is asked to stay vigil. At this moment, it is not yet clear whether there was any lapse on the part of the jail administration.
