CBI arrests two port officials on charges of facilitating illegal land transfer to private person

Endorsing the Indian government’s Zero Tolerance towards Corruption policy, the Central Bureau of Investigation has booked two port officials, working in the V O Chidambaranar Port Trust, on the charges of facilitating illegal transfer of the land belonging to the port to a private person.

As per the report, both of the arrestees are engineers working in elite positions in the organisation.

The arrestees, according to the media report, have not only colluded with the land grabber to forge the documents in order to felicitate the illegal land transfer but also have removed the documents related to the land from the files of the organisation.

The case has been registered against the aforementioned on charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal misconduct, and forgery.

It is learned that all the documents related to the deal have been seized by the concerned authorities.

It is learned that if the case is proved in the court the culprits would get severe punishment.

The aforesaid port, which was formally called as the Tuticorin Port Trust, has many properties near and around the port.

Anyway, it is said that the investigation is progressing in the right direction.
