An Indian court has found Salman Khan, one of the most quintessential Bollywood actors, guilty of poaching rare antelopes.
The case was originally registered in the late 1990s. It was alleged that the actor while acting in the film Hum Saath Saath Hain (as per the BBC report) killed and poached some rare animals which fall under the protected category.
As part of the incident, at least four cases were registered against him. Of the four cases, three were quashed by the concerned courts.
Not only the popular actor, several other co-actors who were with him in the film set in Rajasthan also faced charges similar to those charged against Mr Khan.
As the cases progressed in the courts, all other actors were acquitted by the concerned courts citing different reasons.
Anyway, even if the Indian court has now found the actor guilty in the poaching case, he can challenge the verdict of the lower court before a higher court.
As per a latest updates, the actor will approach a higher court to challenge the verdict made by the lower court in the coming days.
The actor is not new to the cases and controversies. He faced several serious cases in the courts in the past including a hit-and-run case.
