Delhi launches its ambitious program to home-deliver services

Setting an example to all those states which are eager to embrace a progressive path, the Delhi government has launched an ambitious program to home-deliver some services such as driving license, ration card, birth certificate, marriage registration, and water connection.

It is a huge step, says an expert. The expert adds that it would bring a huge difference in the way Delhiates interacts with their public servants for some services.

On the first day, the new program has received huge response. The authorities have responded to at least four thousand calls out of nearly twenty one thousand calls it has received.

At present, the program only covers nearly forty services. In the future, it will increase its toll to over one hundred services.

A Keralite claims that all governments who wish to make a radical change in the way their organs that closely interact with their people function must adopt the path the Delhi government has ventured into.

At present, an additional amount of fifty rupee is charged from all those who avail the services that are offered through the home-delivery mode. In the future, the service charge may decrease sharply.

An observer says that the service change should be affordable to all, especially those belong to the lower section of the economic strata of the Delhi society only then the program can be considered as an great achievement.
