Since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax, many political leaders have come forward with statements declaring their disagreement.

Yashwant Sinha, the former Finance Minister, has been one of them who have openly alleged that there are flaws in the Goods and Services Tax regime.

In the latest interview, the former FM has alleged that each roll back from the original structure of the GST is an admission of failure.

Recently, during the latest GST council meeting, the members removed nearly one hundred and seventy-seven items from the highest tax slab of twenty-eight per cent.

Mr Sinha has cited the aforementioned incident to justify that the GST council and the Finance Minister have rolled back from the original structure of the GST.

At present, there are only fifty items in the highest tax slab of twenty-eight per cent, the tax slab which the opposition wants to remove.

Mr Sinha has further alleged that the creation of GST tax slabs and the way the items were placed inside each tax slabs are not done in a flawless manner.

He has claimed that he was worried about the BJP’s future that is why he raised the issue before the public.
