Hyderabad HC dismisses conspiracy charges against N Srinivasan

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on last day dismissed a conspiracy case charged against former BCCI supremo N Srinivasan by Central Bureau of Investigation over an illicit investment issue, saying the investigators failed to prove the involvement of the accused in the case. Apart from the industrialist, some of the top officials of the Andhra government and firebrand Andhra politician YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are also implicated in the charge-sheet. And, it is learned that the case dosser clearly mentioned the involvement of each person in the crime. As per the CBI’s report, the Cement Company, under N Srinivasan, entered into a criminal conspiracy with some of the state’s politicians and government officials for illegally securing limestone mines form the state’s quota. Anyway, the court clarified that the chairman of the company alone cannot be held responsible for the decisions which were passed by the company’s board. The court was convinced by the arguments which were raised by the defended attorney that claimed that his client has not secured any personal financial gain through the, so called, illicit conspiracy. Meanwhile, the court reportedly approved the prosecution’s plea that demanded further investigation in the case. It seems that the court has given a clean chit to the tainted politicians and the industrialist on the Andhra government’s most debated case.
