IPL opening ceremony funds gives to armed forces

In the trauma of the Pulwama terror attacks and gripping in mind the sentiments of the citizens, the Supreme Court elected Committee of Administrators (CaO), directing the BCCI, has determined to cancel the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and grant the money budgeted for it to the armed forces.

The budgeted cost of hosting an IPL opening function is RS 20 crore. it was collectively decided that a sum of Rs 8 crore to the CRPF, Rs 11 crore will be given to the Indian Army, and 1 crore each to the Air Force and Navy respectively. stated the board on Saturday.
