As the police, it is assumed, have reached a preliminary conclusion that there are several missing links in the statement given by the Jalandhar bishop, who is accused of raping a nun, the investigators are likely to continue the interrogation procedure of Bishop Franco Mulakkal today also.
It was yesterday the Bishop for the first time presented before the investigative officers for the interrogation. On that day, he underwent a marathon interrogation lasted up to nearly seven long hours.
There were reports that yesterday itself the police asked the Bishop to present himself before the investigators on the next day.
Though the details of the interrogation session have not been released yet, the media personals have reported that there are clear reasons to believe that there are several missing links in the statement given by the Bishop to the investigators.
The rape case against the Bishop is one of the most sensitive cases the Kerala police have handled recently. Never before in the history of the state, a nun has openly come with such a highly controversial allegation against a serving Bishop.
The issue has recently triggered a national wide outrage against the Bishop and those around him. For last few days, a group of citizens including nuns has been observing the hardest protest of hunger strike demanding the arrest of the accused Bishop. This pressure exerted by the civil society and by those inside the establishment of church and system is the right reason for the steady development in the investigation process.
No one can suppress the truth. It will definitely come out one day, breaking the backbone of all suppressive forces.
