Kerala wins top rank in NITI Aayog’s Health Index report

The Indian state of Kerala has wristed top position in the NITI Aayog’s Health Index report, which exposes the nation’s performance in health.

The surprising fact is that apart from Kerala, the states which hold top positions are Tamil Nadu and Punjab.

This is the first time such a detailed report has been developed by the NITI Aayog in this matter.

The report has been developed in association with the World Bank, which has expertise and technical ability in carrying out such a report and has conducted several similar surveys across the world.

The survey released by the think-tank of government itself indicates that the central government and the state governments should earmark more funds for the development of the public health care sector function under them.

Several parameters have been used to draw an authentic picture on where each state stands in respect to the health care performance.

It is learned that the central government will make a close look at this report to ascertain where it should put more concentration and which all are the regions need more funds.

Kerala is traditionally a state which gives high importance to the welfare of its people. There is no surprise in the fact that it is one of the states which perform well in the health care sector and education sector (the sectors every welfare state normally give prime importance).
