Rainbow flags fly high; LGBT finally gets recognition

It is a big day for each and every person belongs to the LGBT community, sexual rights activists and all those who support the genuine cause of this minority community.

The top court of the country has finally corrected itself today by delivering a verdict that reverses its earlier judgement related to the right of a LGBT person to freely express his/her sexual interest.

The Chief Justice of India today observes that the section 377 that criminalises the sexual relation between two consenting adults against the order of nature is irrational and manifestly arbitrary.

Almost all judges which are in the bench which relooks the constitutionality of the controversial section unanimously supports the view that the CJI has in this issue.

It is definitely a historic moment. The year of 2018 is the year of a judicial revolution. In this year, the nation has witnessed several historic verdicts –notably, in the privacy issue and, now, in the section 377 issue.

The celebration has begun outside the court. The celebration is likely to spread across the country swiftly.

A renowned psychologist says that having a different sexual perspective about sexual relation is not a mental issue. It seems that India starts understanding this fact.

Let’s stop looking the LGBT community through a narrow mindset. The Indian judiciary has done their part responsibly. Now, it’s our turn. Think rationally!!!
