Spanish feminists call on strike to eliminate gender inequality

Normally, March eight is a good day for women. It is the day when the world celebrates the International Women’s Day.

Today, several organisations, particularly the feminist organisations, women right organisations, gender right organisations and women-centred organisations, have organised celebrations across the world to express their happiness.

It seems that the Spanish women are not in support of the opinion that the women’s day should be celebrated colourfully. The developments indicate that the Spanish ladies are of the opinion that the day should be tactically utilised to bring forth the discussions around the gender inequality and gender discrimination to the forefront of the society.

Anyway, for the aforementioned purpose, the Spanish women have called on a twenty-four hours strike across the country to eliminate gender inequality.

As many as ten unions participate in the strike. The transport service has been badly affected by the strike. The railway service has been partially closed as the preponderance of the women workers working in the sector has stayed away from the work to express their solidarity with the cause.

Some feminist organisations have advised the Spanish women to hand order the domestic duty they are supposed to do to their husbands or other male members in their houses.

Can the Spanish women’s strike make any global impact?
