Top German spy accused of hiding 15m euro in offshore accounts

The top German spy, Werner Mauss, is accused of hiding nearly fifteen million euros in the offshore accounts. He was popularly known as the ‘German James Bond’. He had reportedly participated in several undercover operations across the world. He had at least thirty aliases. For a long period, he was an undercover officer. During that time, even his identity, picture, and biometric details were considered as a matter of top secret. As per the report, he was the most efficient officer of the German intelligence agency. He participated in some of the most complicated missions. He claims that he crushed nearly hundred notorious criminal gangs operated in different regions of the world. It is said that he freed hostages kidnapped by the most dangerous Colombian rebels. Now, unfortunately, he stands before the German court as a financial criminal. It is learned that he denied all charges levelled against him. He reportedly asserted that the accounts discovered by the investigating officials were created by the German intelligence agency. He added that the money was supposed to be utilised during the offshore missions.   It is evident from his statements that he is still bound by some confidentiality agreements so he cannot disclose too many details regarding the fund and source. Anyway, he could be imprisoned for at least ten years, if the court finds him guilty on the tax evasion crime. Notably, he did not bother to make a statement at the trial court on the first day of the trial. It seems that the German James Bond must find a strong defence in order to overcome the crisis.
