Investors in Trump Media & Technology Group have collectively lost more than $2.2 billion as the company’s shares continue to decline, according to a Reuters estimate. The steep losses have hit individual investors who backed the company, believing that Donald Trump’s return to the White House would boost its business and stock value. One investor, Ske Jarzenske, a 52-year-old Texas resident who invested 20% of his net worth in the company, has seen his investment fall by 88.5%. Several other shareholders interviewed by Reuters reported similarly significant losses, with some expressing disappointment over the company’s performance.
The company’s financial struggles have been linked to its Truth Social platform’s inability to attract a substantial user base, limited revenue growth and declining cryptocurrency investments. Trump Media has generated approximately $4 million in annual revenue over the past three years, while its Truth Social streaming service, developed at a cost of more than $200 million, generated just $630,000 between its launch in August 2024 and June 2026. The company disputed Reuters’ methodology for calculating investor losses, describing its estimates as misleading, while maintaining that it has a strong balance sheet and is focused on creating shareholder value through a proposed merger with nuclear fusion company TAE Technologies.
Despite the losses suffered by outside investors, President Donald Trump continues to hold 114.75 million shares in the company, valued at approximately $460 million at Thursday’s closing price of $4.02 per share. His stake was once valued at more than $6 billion when the stock traded near its peak. Following the November 2026 midterm elections, Trump Media shares declined by 32%, adding to investor concerns. While some shareholders continue to support Trump, others are questioning whether their financial commitment to the company has delivered the returns they expected.
