It seems that Emmerson Mnangagwa, who forcefully took the helm of Zimbabwe from Robert Mugabe, who controlled it for more than three decades, is trying to reward those military officials, who played a major role in paving the way for the regime change, with the powerful cabinet positions, such as the foreign ministry and ministry of agriculture and land affairs.

Apart from the military officials, the members of the war veterans’ association, which played a key role in the regime change like that of the military, have also been offered with some key positions in the cabinet.

There have been reports that most of the powerful ministers of the Mugabe’s cabinet, except those who support Grace Mugabe, are likely to retain the position.

Sibusiso Moyo and Perence Shiri are the two main military leaders, who have been offered positions in the government. The former is likely to get the charge of foreign ministry and the latter is likely to be inducted as the minister of agriculture and land affairs.

Among the war veteran group, Chris Mutsvangwa has been selected to be granted position in the cabinet.

Some claim that the proposed cabinet is assuring nothing to those who supported the regime change in search of change.
