European Union to strengthen security force

Finally, after years of tough negotiations, the European Union and its member countries unanimously agreed to strengthen the security and defence force. Hereafter, the plan would ensure greater coordination among its forces in all kinds of mission, says report. Meanwhile, an EU source claimed that the plan is not intended to establish an alternative force to the NATO.The plan was presented at a meeting organised to discuss the security issues. Several top leaders, including the foreign ministers and defence ministers of the member countries of the European Union, have participated in the event organised at Brussels. Earlier, during the election campaign, the president-elect, Donald Trump, asserted that the US cannot always come to the aid of the NATO ally under attack.

Moreover, he alleged that some of the NATO allies are not properly contributing to the NATO bills. He further insisted that the allies, particularly the European allies, should spend more money for its own defence. The security plan was a prime agenda on the European Unions’ table since the Brexit. The unexpected victory of Trump has boosted the pending plan.It seems that the plan may irk the United Kingdom, which always blocked a German-France security initiative while they were the active members of the European Union. The EU source vowed that the new plan would gift safer country to the Europeans. It is learned that the European Union also aims to secure its borders and to check illegal infiltration. The long-pending plan was projected as a main agenda after the infamous Paris attack.
