In what could be termed as a clear warning to all political gimmicks surrounding the world’s most popular game, the Federation Internationale de Football Association set to suspend the Guatemala football team over the political issue. If the ban is strongly implemented, the Guatemala’s national team and clubs cannot participate in any international matches. Meanwhile, it is learned that the world football regulatory body would not implement the ban immediately. Earlier, a senior officer of the National Football Federation of Guatemala- Fedefut- was arrested for committing serious corruption. Followed by that, the international football governing body appointed a special committee to monitor the Fedefut. Recently, the newly appointed committee alleged that the local government authority of Guatemala had intervened to derail the activities of the committee. It is learned that the political gimmicks played by the Guatemala local government authorities have prompted the FIFA to take an extreme step. However, the sports regulatory authority of the country has suspended the FIFA-run committee. It is said that the suspension would remain in place until the immature move was cancelled by the country’s officials. The Guatemala football team is one of the strongest football teams from the Latin America. They own some of the most brilliant players of the Latin American region. Now, the new issue has put the country into a deep trouble. Experts say that the suspension would badly affect the player’s future.
