Top NK official meets US Secretary of State

A top North Korean official, General Kim Yong-chol, who was until recently in the blacklist of those considered dangerous by the west, has reached the United States via China to meet the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

The unusual meeting has taken place in the US city of New York in a building located near the United Nations headquarters.

At this moment, it is not clear what all have been discussed during the important discussion session. As per a preliminary report, it has been successful working dinner and the leaders have discussed almost all subjects concerning the proposed Kim-Trump meeting.

The senior leaders of the US and North Korea are expected to meet again within a couple of days.

Though the United States recently backed away from its plan to participate in a meeting with the North Korean dictator, the officials, working for the occurrence of such a meeting, never slowed down their efforts for the materialisation of such a historic meeting.

Anyway, before entering the meeting with the NK top official, the US official through his social media handle has clearly stated the US position that the west is not ready to encourage any settlement other than the complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Will the historic meeting happen?
