It is clear from the initial reports coming from Singapore that the crucial summit between the United States and North Korea has succeeded in meeting what both nations expected from such a meeting.
The US President, Donald Trump, and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un have met at a luxurious hotel located on a popular tourist island under Singapore.
There have been several photo moments throughout the meeting. An unusual photo taken during the meeting (which shows the leaders shaking their hands) is going viral in the social media platforms.
Both leaders have attended a one-to-one meeting and a working lunch with senior officials of both countries. After the meeting sessions, the leaders have signed an agreement committing cooperation between both countries.
Both leaders have asserted that it has been a highly productive meeting and the sessions have turned out to be much better than what it has been anticipated it would be.
It is expected that both leaders would give a joint statement later today. It is believed that some formal agreements regarding the western-verifiable denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula and the cancellation of the US sanction over the North Korean economy have been reached during the summit.
