13-year-old boy banned from theme park for a year after getting stuck in the claw machine

A 13-year-old boy climbed into a claw machine called the “Cosmic XL Bonus Game” at Carowinds amusement park to steal plush toys. The incident took place on April 16 at around 2 p.m., and the boy got stuck inside the machine. Carowinds confirmed the incident and warned against attempting to sneak into the machine for free prizes. The theme park is located on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina.

According to Carowinds, the park’s medical team came to the boy’s aid when he got stuck inside the claw machine, and he was freed at 2:11 pm. The theme park treated him for injuries and then released him. Carowinds confirmed that the boy was banned from the park for one year due to attempted theft, and the park prioritizes the safety and security of its guests and employees. The theme park stated that there have been no similar incidents with the claw machine before. Elaut, the manufacturer of the claw machine, has not responded to a request for comment from CNN.
