Nvidia in Talks to Invest in Perplexity at $30B+ Valuation

Nvidia is reportedly in discussions to invest in AI search startup Perplexity as part of a funding round that would value the company at more than $30 billion, according to The Information.

The potential deal would represent a more than 50% increase from Perplexity’s previous $20 billion valuation finalized in September 2025.

Perplexity’s business has also expanded rapidly. Its annualized revenue has reportedly climbed to more than $750 million, up from less than $250 million at the beginning of 2026. Growth has been partly attributed to Perplexity Computer, its cloud-based AI agent designed to automate computer-based tasks for professionals.

Perplexity declined to comment, while Nvidia had not immediately responded to requests for comment.

The AI startup has attracted several high-profile investors, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and SoftBank, and is reportedly planning an IPO in 2028 regardless of how upcoming listings from OpenAI and Anthropic perform.

The potential Nvidia investment would further strengthen ties between one of the world’s leading AI chipmakers and a rapidly growing AI application company.
