UPS has signed an exclusive deal with TikTok Shop to provide no-box, no-label returns for US sellers on the fast-growing e-commerce platform, as the parcel delivery company expands its higher-margin reverse logistics business. The partnership will allow participating TikTok Shop sellers to use UPS’s Happy Returns service, which lets customers return unwanted products at nearly 10,000 designated locations, including UPS stores, Ulta Beauty and Staples.
The agreement comes as UPS and rival FedEx seek to capture more of the growing returns market, where specialized services can offer better margins than conventional e-commerce deliveries. Retail returns totaled about $850 billion in 2025, while nearly 20% of online purchases were returned, according to the National Retail Federation. Blue Yonder estimates that returns cost retailers an average of 27% of a product’s purchase price, highlighting the growing demand for more efficient reverse logistics solutions.
Under Happy Returns, customers can take products to participating locations, where workers scan, package and consolidate them into larger shipments bound for processing hubs. UPS said the service can help TikTok Shop sellers reduce return fraud, speed up inventory turnaround and improve the customer experience. Happy Returns also uses artificial intelligence to identify potentially fraudulent returns, with suspicious packages sent for human review before refunds are withheld.
