T-Mobile on Monday unveiled new wireless plans that allow customers to choose and swap benefits such as Netflix, DoorDash and music subscriptions, moving away from its traditional approach of bundling perks into fixed plan tiers. The move reflects growing competition among US telecom operators, with carriers increasingly seeking to attract customers through personalised benefits rather than relying solely on network coverage and smartphone promotions.
The new T-Mix plans will be available from next month across three tiers: Standard, starting at $55 per month for one line; More, at $75; and Loaded, at $95. The number of perks available will depend on the selected tier and the number of lines. Partner offerings include Apple, Google, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, SiriusXM, Xbox, YouTube and DoorDash, alongside benefits such as Delta SkyMiles, ESPN Unlimited, Google Gemini and device promotions. T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer Allan Samson told Reuters that Netflix was the most popular benefit during a pilot launched in early October, while music subscriptions, artificial intelligence services and Xbox gaming also attracted interest.
Customers will be able to change their selected perks every three months or during an annual change window, while certain wireless benefits, including satellite connectivity, can be modified at any time. By giving subscribers greater flexibility to tailor their plans, T-Mobile aims to appeal to consumers managing multiple subscriptions and looking for better value from their monthly wireless spending. The strategy mirrors customisable offerings from competitors such as Verizon, intensifying the battle among US carriers to differentiate their services through bundled entertainment, lifestyle and technology benefits.
