Global private equity firm Advent International has raised $30 billion across its latest fund complex, securing capital for its flagship buyout fund and a new mid-market investment strategy. Announced on Tuesday, the fundraising highlights the firm’s ability to attract investors despite a prolonged slowdown in private equity exits.
Advent raised $27 billion for its 11th global private equity fund, GPE XI, making it the largest buyout fund closed so far in 2026. The firm also secured more than $3 billion in commitments for a new mid-market strategy launched in March. GPE XI will invest across sectors and deal sizes, primarily in Europe and North America, while expanding its presence in Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
The new mid-market fund will target investments of $100 million to $350 million in North American and European companies with enterprise values of up to $1.25 billion. Advent attracted commitments from both new and existing investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, institutional managers, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. The fundraising comes amid challenging market conditions, as slower exits have reduced cash distributions to investors and limited the capital available for fresh commitments.
