In international beauty pageants, while married and unmarried men compete under a single “Mr.” title, organizing separate titles like “Miss” and “Mrs.” exclusively for women is discriminatory, according to the Chairman of Pegasus. He announced that in the Miss Glam Universe competition happening in November, both married and unmarried women will compete under a single “Miss” title. The “Mrs” titles will be removed from the House of Pegasus’s international pageant lineup, signaling a new direction for their global competitions.
Under this new format, married women will now have the opportunity to compete in the ‘Miss’ categories. By removing the separate “Mrs” titles, the pageants aim to create a more inclusive platform where all women, regardless of their marital status, can participate under the ‘Miss’ designation.
This decision by Dr. Ajit Ravi is part of a larger strategy to modernize and enrich the international pageant experience. The updated categories are set to broaden opportunities for contestants and further elevate the global prestige of Pegasus Global Pvt. Ltd’s iconic events.
