Jennifer Lopez, 55, has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, bringing an end to their relationship that has spanned over two decades. The filing took place on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, coinciding with their second wedding anniversary. The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in Las Vegas in July 2022 before having a formal wedding in Georgia a month later, were first engaged in the early 2000s but had called off their initial wedding.
Fans have closely followed Lopez and Affleck’s relationship, as both went on to have significant relationships with others before finding their way back to each other. Lopez married singer Marc Anthony and was briefly engaged to former baseball star Alex Rodriguez, while Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children. The court documents show that Lopez filed for divorce without mention of a prenuptial agreement.
This news follows Lopez’s announcement in May that she was canceling her summer concert tour to focus on her family. At the time, she expressed her devastation over the decision, stating that it was necessary for her well-being.
