Ontario Couple Welcomes 14.8-Pound Baby Boy via Cesarean Section

In a remarkable turn of events, a couple from Ontario, Britteney and Chance Ayres, celebrated the arrival of their fifth child, a baby boy named Sonny, who weighed an astonishing 14.8 pounds at birth. The proud parents were taken by surprise when their newborn son made his grand entrance into the world at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Ontario, on October 23. Measuring 55 centimeters in length, Sonny’s extraordinary birth weight left both medical staff and family members in awe.

Chance Ayres, the elated father, shared his astonishment with Fox News, saying, “Oh, it was dumbfounding. It was a mind-blowing experience.” He went on to describe the euphoria that swept through the delivery room, comparing it to a championship victory, stating, “The way the doctors and nurses were cheering. It was like the [Toronto] Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup. It was insane. Everybody was jumping and screaming. It was fun.”

The Ayres family had eagerly awaited Sonny’s arrival, with even medical professionals placing bets on the baby’s size. Notably, two of Sonny’s siblings had previously been born at over 13 pounds. However, the moment of truth came when the medical team placed him on the scale, revealing his astonishing weight of 14.8 pounds. Chance Ayres recalled the collective disbelief, saying, “When they said 14.8, we all just kind of stopped and stared at each other, and then next thing you know, it was like – wow, this is crazy.” Sonny has certainly exceeded everyone’s expectations with his extraordinary size and birth story.
