Tesla Completes First Cybertruck Production at Gigafactory Texas, Entering Competitive EV Pickup Market

Tesla, the renowned electric vehicle manufacturer, has achieved a significant milestone by completing production of its long-anticipated Cybertruck at the Gigafactory near Austin, Texas. The futuristic-looking, stainless steel alloy-bodied pickup was initially unveiled by CEO Elon Musk back in 2019, with production expected to begin in late 2021. However, after a slight delay, the first Cybertruck has now rolled off the assembly line. Tesla workers proudly shared a photo of the vehicle on social media, marking a major step forward for the automaker.

Elon Musk’s Cybertruck boasts formidable features, as he claims its robust stainless steel alloy body can withstand certain types of small arms fire. Additionally, the truck is said to have an impressive towing capacity of 14,000 pounds. Despite the successful production, specific details about the Cybertruck’s availability and pricing remain uncertain. Musk previously mentioned that deliveries could commence between July and September, but the company is yet to provide an official statement on the matter.

As Tesla’s Cybertruck prepares to enter the market, it faces fierce competition in the rapidly expanding electric pickup segment. Companies like Rivian, with its R1T model starting at $73,000, and General Motors’ Hummer EV pickup, are already vying for customers’ attention. In response to the looming threat from the Cybertruck and Rivian, Ford, the automotive giant, has slashed prices on seven variants of its F-150 Lightning model by up to $10,000. This move comes after earlier price hikes attributed to rising material costs. The electric vehicle market continues to evolve rapidly, with consumers eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Cybertruck and its competitors.
