Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez has issued a conciliatory message to the United States, inviting Washington to pursue a cooperative agenda focused on peace, development, and mutual respect. In a statement shared on social media following the U.S. capture of President Nicolás Maduro, Rodríguez emphasized that Venezuela seeks to live “without external threats” and is committed to peaceful coexistence grounded in international law.
Rodríguez said her government prioritizes building “balanced and respectful” relations with the United States and countries in the region, guided by principles of sovereign equality and non-interference. She reiterated that global peace depends on ensuring stability within individual nations and called for collaboration on shared development goals to strengthen long-term regional harmony.
Appealing directly to U.S. President Donald Trump, Rodríguez stressed that “our peoples and our region deserve peace and dialogue, not war,” noting that this has long been Maduro’s position. She affirmed Venezuela’s right to peace, sovereignty, and a secure future, expressing hope for a nation united in cooperation and common purpose.
