AIADMK to organise serious protest on April 2 against centre over ‘Cauvery Water Issue’

The All Indian Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is set to organise a serious protest in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu against the central government’s inability to constitute the Cauvery Management Board and Cauvery Water Regulation Committee.

According to a media report, the top leaders of the AIADMK would stage a fast in the state in the aforementioned date.

The information regarding the AIADMK’s future political move in the Cauvery water issue has been officially publicised by the Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam, while attending an mass wedding function organised by the party’s Amma Peravi in the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu, Madurai.

The AIADMK MPs have been organising severe protest in the Indian parliament since the beginning of the second season of the budget session over the same issue.

Recently, the DMK, the prime opposition of the Dravidian land, criticised that the ruling party failed to exert adequate pressure on the centre over the issue.

Anyway, the statement made by the DMK has been denounced by the AIADMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami, who has also attended the event organised by the party along with his deputy CM.

What are the implications of these developments for Karnataka which is at the edge of a crucial election?
