A senior BJP leader from Punjab, Laxmi Kanta Chawla, has lashed out at Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged lack of interest towards the issues faced by the common men of the country such as farmers, labourers and soldiers.
The criticism has been raised while travelling in a local train to personally verify the actual experience a normal traveller gets during his/her journey in the train.
She has claimed that common passengers get no good experience in local trains. She also alleged that most of the promises regarding the facilities for common men in local trains remain unmet.
She has also criticised Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. She has requested both the Prime Minister and Railway Minister to visit any local train to verify the authenticity of his allegations.
She, in her statement, has indirectly mocked the bullet train project, by urging the concerned authorities to give more importance to the smooth functioning of the existing projects than to new projects.
This is the first time a senior BJP leader has come openly against the BJP government and its way of governance. Moreover, it is the first time a BJP leader has publically admitted that his/her party has failed to give ‘Aache Din’ to common people –thus failed to fulfill its biggest promise.
How do the veteran BJP leader’s allegations affect the already weakened saffron camp?
