As the United Kingdom goes to poll stations today, both the conservatives and leftists express high hope about their success. The election is conducted for nearly six hundred and fifty parliament seats which have been vacated after the unexpected declaration of the snap election tactically done by the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, under whom the Brexit talk is being carried out. There are nearly 46.9 million eligible voters in the country. The authorities have arranged nearly forty thousand poll stations across the United Kingdom for the convenience of the voters. As per the latest updates, the Conservative Party, the ruling centre-rightist party, holds a small lead over the Labour Party, which is the most powerful centre-leftist organisation of the country. The British Prime Minister is the icon of the centre-rightist, while the firebrand leader and the hardline leftist, Jeremy Corbyn, is the leading force of the centre-left, which has been consistently increasing its acceptance since the declaration of the snap election. It is a fact that when the snap election was declared the prime subject under discussion was the Brexit and how to materialize a harmless withdrawal. But, later, the focus has been shifted to counter-terrorism as the country has suffered three cruel terrorist attacks in the recent past. The Conservative Party, which had a promising majority of 20 point lead over nearest rival Labour Party, has lost its dominance; the former’s lead over the latter has been dramatically reduced to below five points within a short span of time. Anyway, some predict that the new government would be a collation government with the conservative as the leader. As per the report, the result of the crucial election is expected to be fully released by tomorrow.
