BSP lashes out at BJP, SP; offers ‘no freebies’, but ‘reservation to poor upper class’

In what could be considered as a perfectly calculated, tactical, move, the BSP, which is aiming a powerful comeback and trying the execution of an unnatural political formula consolidating upper-class people, Dalits and Muslims, has offered special reservation quota for the upper-class population who are living in poor living conditions. Reminding the UP population clearly about the existence of the powerful third front, the BSP supremo, Mayawati, has strongly lashed out at SP led SP-Congress front and BJP led saffron front alike. BJP has been aggressively criticised by the Dalit-led front for implementing the demonetisation of the higher denomination banknotes allegedly aiming at some petty political gains.

As per the BSP’s opinion, the demonetisation helped big business tycoons, but it negatively affected the poor population of the country. The Dalit leader has also raised strong allegations against the ruling SP government, saying “the law and order system of the state has totally failed”. Indicating that she learned some good things from her mistakes, she has announced that she would not erect any statues once she comes into power, instead would ensure that the direct cash incentives are properly given to the poor and needy at the right time. Many political observers see this announcement as a revival of the party that once established a history by giving a Dalit woman Chief Minister- in fact, the first Dalit Chief Minister of the country- to the state which have an unpleasant history of caste discriminations and violence. Could the Dalit leader repeat the history?
