As the Patidar community leader, Hardik Patel, is visiting the central state of Madhya Pradesh, which is expected to go to polls later this year for an crucial assembly election, all eyes are at this powerful leaders wondering can the aggressive politician hailing from the fort of saffron repeat in the largest state in the central part of India the magic he showed in the Gujarat assembly election.
Mr Hardik, who reached MP for a five day political visit as part of a political program organised by the Kisan Kranthi Sena (KSS) –the political organisation headed by the young leader, has declared in an official public conference that he would organise a month-long journey (yatra) in the state to mobilise the Patidar community in the state.
As per a report, the proposed yatra will commence from the place where the Narmada River originates (Amarkantak). The yatra is expected to cover at least one hundred assembly constituencies of the total two hundred and thirty assembly constituencies. As per an analytical assumption, the Patidar community has significant influence in at least thirty assembly seats.
In Madhya Pradesh, the Patidar community is an OBC community, unlike the case of Gujarat. Traditionally, this community supports the Saffron party in the state.
