Centre to make North East the gateway to South East Asia

Announcing the plan to develop the infrastructure across the North East region in a speedy manner, the centre government is set to make the North East states, which has not witnessed any major development since independence even though the rest of India has grown several folds over the years, the gateway to the South East Asia. This region is said to be the hub of the leftist militant groups and faces several issues, ranging from the violent confrontation and armed violence between the ethnic groups to the Maoist militancy, due to its underdeveloped situation. While speaking at a function organised to celebrate the centenary of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha, through video conference, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has announced his government’s plan to develop the North East region as a gateway to the South East Asia.

He has reminded the people the importance of the cleanliness and how an unclean city would harm the huge plan. It is learned that a huge amount has been earmarked by the central government for the infrastructural development of the North East region in order to let this region catch up with the growth pace of the rest of India. The PM has used the opportunity to appreciate the organisation for the work it has done to help the ailing region. It seems that the growth plan which has been envisaged by the centre would bring huge fortunes to India through the North East corridor. But, it is crucial that how we deal with the issues making the plan a difficult one.
