The Congress party, which marked an astounding comeback in the last Gujarat assembly election by winning a large number of seats in the state, has wrested an impressive victory in the Rajasthan by-election, which is considered by many as the semi-finals of the state’s assembly election which is scheduled to take place within few months.
The grand old party’s unexpected triumph in the state, which is currently being ruled by the BJP government, gives serious headache to the BJP leaders -both central and state leaders.
The congress leaders, including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, have presented his victory as the victory against the BJP’s arrogant rule in the state and in the centre.
Alwar and Ajmer are the two Lok Sabha constituencies in which the by-elections have taken place. In both of these constituencies, the Congress party’s candidates have secured a huge lead against their saffron rivals.
Apart from these Lok Sabha constituencies, the election has also occurred in an assembly constituency, Mandalgarh. In this constituency also, the result has been not different.
A source claims that the full credit for this victory goes to the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President, Sachin Pilot, who has headed the congress camp during the election.
Can the Congress Party regain its lost prominence in the state in the upcoming assembly election?
