In a bid to fight air pollution, the Delhi government launched a mobile application, named ‘Swachh Delhi’. In this mobile application, the common public can register complaints against all kind of pollution happening in their surroundings. Industry, construction sites, garbage, plastic, vehicles, are some of the major agents of dust pollution. The government is expecting serious public participation. In order to ensure that, the App developers were asked to develop an interactive application. There are provisions for sending pictures of any kind of violation, which damagingly affects the air quality. It is learned that the complaints registered in the application will be forwarded to concerned departments at the earliest. As per the report, the government advised the concerned officials and departments to approach the complaints and information in a serious manner.
The ‘Swachh Delhi App’ is likely to be monitored every day. The air quality rate rampantly plummeted after the Diwali day in which we irresponsibly cracked firecrackers to celebrate our happiness. Due to the low air quality, the schools functioning in the state had been closed for nearly three days before it finally reopened on Monday. According to the report, a high-level meeting has been conducted to deliberate the diminishing air quality rate. The report added that Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sasodia and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has participated in the crucial meeting. Earlier also, the Delhi government launched a similar application. It then received positive result. At this moment, it is not clear how much impact the application make on the air quality rate.
