As the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is recovering from her illness in the Apollo Hospital, in which she was admitted around two weeks before, the Governor of the state met some senior cabinet ministers and top government bureaucrats. It is learned that the absence of the top official is badly affecting the functions of the government. As per the reports, currently, there are several pending files accumulated in the Chief Minister office. It is a fact that an immediate action is needed to sort out the issue. It is said that K Palaniswami and O Panneerseivam are being considered for the top post by the concerned persons. It is identified that the party members, top officials, and ministers have reached a consonance over whether the government needs an interim CM or not.
According to the report, if the government is not appointing an interim Chief Minister, the portfolios handled by J Jayalalithaa may be handed to other senior ministers for the time being. The Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao reportedly met senior bureaucrats, senior ministers recently to deliberate the issue. Palaniswami and Panneerselvam participated in the meeting. Those ministers participated in the meeting drop into the Apollo Hospital, in which they met their colleagues and senior party members and deliberated the issue. The two top personalities considered for the post are close confidently of the hospitalised CM. Earlier, at the behest of the TN CM Panneerselvam took the top post nearly two times during 2001 and 2014. Meanwhile, like him, Palaniswami is also a close aid of the TN CM.
