Salary is a serious thing. It is very important in terms of several senses, particularly in economic sense. Men often discourage all kinds of discussions over this subject. Some believe salary defines social status and determines where one belongs in the social strata.
Unfortunately, little efforts have been made to eliminate the misconceptions around this subject.
It is the high time to fill the negative silence with the positive voice. It seems that our judicial system has already done their part.
Normally, husband shares no information about his salary with wife. This trend is generally seen in the low income households, in which husband is the lone breadwinner. It is difficult to point out a single reason for this trend. From complexes to fear, husbands share a wide range of reasons for their behaviour, if questioned.
But, the big question is: does wife has the legal right to know husband’s salary?
There is no doubt that once this is answered the rest (that is, the elimination of other misconceptions around the subject) is simple, as it is the basement where all other misconceptions regarding the subject stands.
It seems that the Madhya Pradesh High Court knows the aforesaid fact. Anyway, while considering a case between a wife and her estranged husband, the MP HC has asserted that wife has all rights to know the remuneration of husband.
The basement is perfectly broken! What is next?
