Ex-Ohio judge dragged from courtroom after jail sentence

A former Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge named Tracie Hunter has been sentenced for a jail term of six months, for using her position to help her brother keep his job back in 2014.

Tracie Hunter, who was elected in 2010 was the first African-American to be selected to this role. Hunter had appealed the sentence but the judge ordered her to be taken into custody.

Videos showed people jumping out of their seats and yelling at the judge and court staff.

After some time, Hunter, went limp and was dragged out of the courtroom by a bailiff. People were screaming “No justice!”

Reports said that, Scott Croswell, a special prosecutor during Hunter’s trial in 2014 said, “What she wants to do is play by her own set of rules. That’s the very attitude and the very conduct that put her in the predicament that she’s in and, frankly, has caused all this pain to her and caused all this turmoil to the community”.
