Finally, Saudi admits missing journalist killed in their custody

Finally, the Saudi Arabia has succumbed to the pressure exerted over it by the West, Turkey and the European liberals over the issue of a journalist, who went missing inside the Saudi consulate, located in Istanbul, Turkey, and admitted that the missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi was accidentally killed in the Saudi custody.

Still, there is no clarity where exactly the brutal murder occurred. Turkey has alleged that it was conducted inside the Saudi consulate by the Saudi agents. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has claimed that it took place inside a Saudi aircraft.

Noteworthy, the US, which earlier warned the Saudi Arabia that it would face serious consequences including economic sanction if it is proved that the murder was conducted by the Saudi agents, has diluted its stand by indirectly saying that it had no intension to consider the options of economic sanction.

Notably, the US has not mentioned clearly how is it going to express its dissatisfaction and anger towards the country which brutally killed a journalist working in a US-based media house.

Surprisingly, no information has been released yet on why the journalist was killed inside the embassy.

As per a latest report, Saudi Arabia has launched an investigation into the report and suspended several intelligence officials in connection with the killing.

Anyway, at this moment, no one, except the US, has trust in the regime’s investigation into the matter.

What can be done to ensure the safety of daring journalists?
