First face transplant patient dies from cancer

The first person, who had undergone face transplantation in 2005, Isabelle Dinoire, unfortunately died from cancer on last day. She had been subjected to this historic surgery after she was disfigured by her pet dog. She later confessed that her disfigurement had occurred as a result of a suicide attempt. In an old interview given to BBC, she was seen recalling that incident vaguely. In that interview sequence, she claimed that she took an overdose of sleeping tablets and woke up in a pool of blood. Notably, she did not blame her dog. Instead, she defended it by saying it was trying to wake her up. Anyway, after the surgery, she got a new mouth and face. But, the anti-rejection treatment had weakened her completely. And, twice, she confronted cancer. In a medical statement, the French doctors publicised the new officially. It is said that the family members demanded privacy, so the doctors only disclosed the death report and reason withholding other background and personal details. Recently, after the Dinoire’s successful face transplantation, several similar surgeries happened across the world, particularly in Turkey, China, US, Spain, and Poland. Reports say that she was extremely happy with the surgery and her new face. But, she hated media attention. More details about the incident are not yet revealed. It is up to the government to decide whether the victim’s family deserves compensation or not.
