Being an ‘IITian’ is the first dream of all engineering aspirant. The enthusiastic students consider this as their initial step towards their successful future. The standard of education delivered by these institutions keeps it odd from other technical institution across the country. So, the immature hearts start loving it, considering it as their one and only goal. Often, these aggressive passion leads to disasters, because the preponderance of these passionate hearts may not make into the IITs due to their limited seat capacity. Now, IIT council is set to provide a small relaxation. In a bid to upgrade the quality of education and capacity, the upcoming IIT council meeting is likely to consider some ambitious programs. With the much-awaited capacity upgrade program, the IITs aims to increase the seats to their technical graduation, post-graduation, and research program. We have nearly twenty-three IIT campuses across the country. Presently, the total capacity of our IITs is nearly seventy-two thousand students. A national daily reported as a confidential source as saying; the IITs would increase its total seat capacity to at least one lakh within the next few years.
IIT council is the highest decision-making body of the premier technical institutions. Their meeting is scheduled to happen on coming August 23. The national daily further reported that nearly four-thousand seats would be increased in the under-graduation level itself. Interestingly, the council is expected to give relaxations on the hostel policy. So, hereafter, it may encourage day scholars. Earlier, it was mandatory that all students studying in the IITs must stay in the college hostels. However, it is biggest revamp program considering by the top decision-making body since the ‘Other Backward Class’ reservation was implemented. Along with the seat capacity, the IITs would also upgrade its educational quality, indicates sources. The IIT council is likely to consider a program, named ‘Vishwajeet’. Through this, it aims to increase the global educational ranking by upgrading the quality of education and other services.
