India celebrates Constitution Day today

In an effort to pay special respect to the constitution of our country and its builders, India is celebrating the Constitution Day today. In November 26, 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly, chaired by Dr Rajendra Prasad, adopted the Constitution of India. It was on January 26, 1950, exactly two months after the day, the constitution comes into force.    Earlier, last year, the central government decided to celebrate 26th November as the Constitution Day. Several organisations are organising activities like mock parliament, and debate and essay writing competition across the country to celebrate the special day. As per the report, this day is celebrated to honour our Constitution and its builders. Dr B. R. Ambedkar was the chairman of the draft committee of the Constitution while DR Rajendra Prasad was the President of the Constituent Assembly.

The organisations are also organising some special programs to honour these two prominent personalities. It is learned that the schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education have been advised to celebrate this special day. Notably, last day, our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, released around two books related to the Constitution of India. While speaking to the media personals last day, PM Modi claimed that it is very import to learn and know the constitution of our country. He further opined that the Republic Day of India is incomplete without celebrating the Constitution Day. This special day is actually celebrated to preserve the values, heritage, and culture of our diverse nation, says the expert.
