The Indian government is set to ink at least two Memorandum of Understandings with the United Kingdome, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to London in March.
As per the report, one of the two MoUs will deal with the issues related to the return of the illegal Indian migrants while the other will be related to the sharing of the criminal records.
The Indian MoU, concerning to the sharing of the criminal records with the United Kingdome, will be similar to the one that Delhi inked with the United States.
As per the UK government’s report, there are nearly tens of thousands of illegal Indian migrants living in their country (as per the Indian data, there are only less than two thousands illegal Indian migrants in the UK).
It seems that once the MoUs are signed, it would considerably reduce the difficulties that one feels while applying a job visa or study visa in the UK.
In order to sign the MoUs, a top level Indian delegation headed by Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju will embark to the United Kingdom later this week.
It has been reported that the recent cabinet shuffles occurred in the UK government is not likely to affect the MoUs.
