India, Tunisia ink two MoUs on IT, traditional-handicraft

 

While visiting Tunisia during his two-nation trip, the Vice-President of India, Hamid Ansari, had inked two MoUs, Memorandum of Understanding, on ‘information and technology’ and ‘handicraft’ with his Tunisian counterpart Habib Essid on last day. Reports say that the two prominent-leaders discussed wide range of issues from counter terrorism to economic development. Meanwhile, the Indian government agreed to train nearly three hundred and fifty Tunisian students in our institutions in next five years. Moreover, we reportedly expressed happiness in Tunisia’s support for India’s entry to the United Nations Security Council. It is learned that the Indo-Tunisian joint conference will held later this year. During that conference, both countries are expected to deliberate details of the agreement elaborately along with other issues.

It seems that the authorities have only created a skeleton of the future policy at present. While addressing a joint public conference, both leaders admitted that it was a productive meeting, and it paved the way for strong bilateral relations. Experts say that the economic relation with the Tunisian government will helps the Indian economy extensively. Because of the strategical position of this country, the strong bilateral relation with this nation will gift unexpected boost to our country’s economy, expert added. Indian Vice-President has also visited Barodo Museum, the House of Representatives and Zaitouna Mosque during his official visit to Tunisia. He is scheduled to visit the Tunisian supremo, Beji Caid Essebsi, on the next day. Currently, Tunisian government is closely working with the Indian government in the auto-sector and agriculture.
