IOC should compensate child victim of violence at Rio 2016: Child right activists

The child right activists insisted that the International Olympic Committee should help compensate child victim of security force atrocities at Rio 2016. A child right organisation identified that the security forces and police authorities had executed violence and force in the run-up to the most awaited Rio Olympics 2016. It is learned that the sensitive report regarding the police atrocities was submitted to the IOC. The child right group has included several recommendations in the report submitted to the IOC. It is said that the IOC would consider all recommendations including the suggestions on compensation. The concerned officials had deployed nearly eighty-five thousand security personals around the city during the Olympics. The security precautions and facilities received wide appreciation from tourists and athletes. The child right group discovered that the security personals used extreme violence to evacuate homeless children from the street. As per the media report, the Amnesty International, an International human rights organisation, had also reported several human right violation cases exercised by the security forces during the Olympics. The right groups want IOC to communicate with the concerned authority of Brazil government and Rio Olympic organizing committee to ensure that these authorities have taken all appropriate steps concerned to the violation of child right. These right groups will assure that the victims would get proper legal assistance and compensation. Furthermore, they will ensure that the individual cases are investigated properly without fear or favour. According to the information, the IOC cannot interfere into an issue, which is not directly linked to the organisation of the Olympics.
