The Indian state of Kerala, which is ruled by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) led coalition government, is set to launch a revolutionary health care policy, which reflects the character of the socialist model society the communists aggressively follows and try to provide to the state.
The new policy is expected to provide affordable, accessible and quality health care infrastructure for the people of the state.
As part of the new health care policy, the state is going to increase its expenditure on health care from 0.6 per cent of Gross State Domestic Product to 5 per cent of GSDP.
It is no likely to increase the expenditure in a hurry manner. The state is expected to increase one per cent each every year.
The laudable policy has been drafted by a special committee of doctors and health experts. Notably, the policy has already received the accent of the state cabinet, which, it seems, is serious about executing the policy in a flawless manner.
Experts have appreciated the state government for the effort it has given to bring forth such a policy for the public.
Many opine the new health care policy of the state can address shortcomings of the existing health care system of the state.
Is the new Kerala Health Care Policy a publicity stunt to overshadow the popularity of the new national insurance policy launched by the central government through their budget?
