Marking a serious improvement in the relation between North Korean and South Korea, the leaders of the Korean peninsula have finally reached a consensus on the sensitive subject of ‘Winter Olympics Participation’ in a meeting held at Peace Village.

As per the agreement, a North Korean National Olympic Committee delegation, athletes, art performers, supports, observers will be permitted to cross the border to attend the Winter Olympics, which is going to take place at PyeongChan.

This is the first time in the recent history of the Korean peninsula that such a peace meeting has taken place in the continent.

The Korean peninsula is one of the most disturbed regions in the world. North Korea and South Korea are only two countries situated in the peninsula. Technically, these two countries are in a state of war between each other.

Since North Korea started its nuclear and ballistic missile experiments, the country has been facing serious isolation from the western powers and from those countries which support the West, such as South Korea.

At present, China is the only friend of this iron curtain country, which is similar to the world’s largest communist country in many ways.

Anyway, the new developments are likely to make many significant changes in the present political scenario of the peninsula and in the relation between the countries situated in the peninsula.
