Now, the whole world is discussing about this mother and daughter. Can you measure mother’s love? To what extent a mother can go to give her daughter a painless life. These questions will definitely hunt you once you finish reading this heart breaking article. Vera Twomey was an ordinary Irish woman until she got Ava, her daughter. Ava was diagnosed with the Dravet syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy, as a child. From the doctors, her mother realised that her daughter’s medical condition is so severe that it could even kill her daughter. Since that moment, an extra ordinary life of an ordinary mother started. Twomey decided to dedicate her entire life to her daughter. Her life confronts a painful reality, when she was informed by the doctors that none of the medicines prescribed to her child since her child was diagnosed with the disease helped her child. Fortunately, recently, some researchers found that a component of cannabis, named as THC, can cure the Dravet syndrome. But, for Twomey, the unfortunate fact was that even the medical use of cannabis is banned in the UK. Anyway, she did not step back. Instead, she reaffirmed her foot. Then, she marched forward. As an initial step, she filed a petition in the Republic of Ireland Legislature demanding legalisation of a substance she firmly believes could save her daughter. After several failed efforts, she decided to take the street. This mother of four set out to walk from Aghabullogue to the Irish parliament located in Dublin. She received tremendous support from the public. She extensively used the social media platform to seek support from the public. Finally, the Irish government bent their knee before this mother’s determination. The Irish health minister agreed to meet Twomey personally. It is said that the Irish government will relook the medical cannabis policy.
