Mexico places legal defence to protect its citizens in US

As a last resort to protect the Mexican citizens in the US who are being driven out of the country using a harsh immigration rule rolled out by the new Trump regime, the Mexican authorities have placed a legal defence in the US in order to give legal assistance to their citizens who are victimised by the rough immigration enforcement. Defending the new initiative taken by the Mexican authority, the country’s Foreign Minister, Luis Videgaray asserts that the move is not intended to protect the illegal immigrants but to protect those Mexicans who are living in the US for years. He points out that the Mexicans are facing serious human rights issues due to the tougher immigration enforcement under the Trump regime. Recently, the US supremo insisted the immigration officials to carry out the immigration enforcement strictly. In an effort to ensure the proper implementation of the directive, he also ordered the federal agents to help the immigration officials. Presently, there are nearly eleven million illegal migrants in the US. Of this eleven million, over six million are Mexicans. The stricter implementation of the new immigration rule is likely to affect the Mexican economy badly. The new political developments in the US have strained the US-Mexico bilateral relation. It is said that the US government ruled by the Republicans is aggressively moving forward with the plan to construct a wall between the US and Mexico despite the fact that the Mexican government has strongly denounced the plan.
